It's quite fascinating because of its various connections with and within my life: Just mentioned ee cummings in a writers' group and wrote a couple of poems myself after more than a decade, have been thinking and talking about the role both past and present of the United States and have now personal connections and associations with Hungary! A very well-timed post that combines various important aspects for me (some might call them coincidences but not me) so thank you again for this ;)Arash Farzanehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12000344680925876563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1367161100956691682.post-54039111722501374202024-01-27T12:06:14.926-08:002024-01-27T12:06:14.926-08:00you may be interested in my latest post https://ro...you may be interested in my latest post https://rochereau.wordpress.com/2024/01/27/an-american-speaks-about-hungary-in-1956/Vincenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18297306807695767580noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1367161100956691682.post-32435545922531523822023-12-16T10:24:08.094-08:002023-12-16T10:24:08.094-08:00Thank you, Suzy, for your comment and for sharing ...Thank you, Suzy, for your comment and for sharing your thoughts and insights here! I'm glad you agree because many people do not see it that way and easily fall for the charm and allure of narcissists, but you are absolutely right, they tend to cause harm to people especially those closest to them (which I also know and have witnessed from personal experience). I was wondering if there is a gender component at play, which is why I put both male and female narcissists side by side here as it seems that the public is softer on the female than the male narc.

I think that narcissism exists on a spectrum and that some amount can be healthy as long as there is empathy involved (those more on the extreme are simply obsessed about themselves and do not have any true empathy whatsoever). That said, narcissists are exceptionally good at faking it all and deluding and manipulating others.

Thanks again,

ArashArash Farzanehhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12000344680925876563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1367161100956691682.post-24989335904579876552023-12-14T01:40:22.541-08:002023-12-14T01:40:22.541-08:00Wow! As I have a mother-in-law that is narcissist, (in fact she looks like Diana and maintain the same persona as Diana, she tries to portray her to others). But the damage she inflicted on my husband is terrible, so I must imagine how William suffered all these years. I think Harry is more like my brother-in-law, have some narc characteristics but not to full extent, maybe to protect himself. To me, as a person that had to study a lot about narcissism and have a family member with it, it was pretty obvious to look to Diana’s actions( seeking attention all the time, careless about her children’s feelings, playing victim all time) and evaluate her as a narcissistic person who fulfilled all her dreams that was be the center of all. I do think Harry has some narc characteristics too, but not to her extent. Great to read your post, thank you. Women in so many parts of the world are still so far away from anything like equality. And the U.S. is doing all it can to bring women farther down. And in many ways in Canada there is still not equality Women are still being raped, beaten and killed in Canada by men. Girls and women are being trafficked into and out of Canada.Women still esrn6 less than men. Women are expected to work full time and cook, clean, take care of the kids. That burden still falls mainly on them. Way more single moms and deadbeat dads than the other way around. On and on. The Metoo movement continues to expose the abuse of women by men.
And that is just Canada. And men still think they can talk about how the women's movement has gone too far. They are given that platform. You have absolutely no way of knowing this unless you are in the heads of women which I am assuming you are not. The opinions of others are not required for amy medical procedure a man has, the moral opinions of others and again, if it were men who were pregnant, this wouldn't even be a conversation. Abortions would be legal without question. It is all an issue of patriarchy and comtrol of women. That is why Roe v Wade fell.. control of women. The very conscious bias is that women and their bodies must be controlled by all means necessary. As for domestic violence, it is overwhelmingly men abusing their wives. But some men like to add but women too! even though that is much much more rare.
I hadn't realized I was anonymous. But true mindfulness, Hanh explains, is not an escape. It is being in the present moment, totally alive and free.

Based on a retreat that Thich Nhat Hanh led for Westerners, You Are Here offers a range of effective practices for cultivating mindfulness and staying in the present moment—including awareness of breathing and walking, deep listening, and skillful speech.
